★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A historical garden built by a genera Lin back in 1871 during the Qing dynasty. It is located in Tanzi area, Taichung and was one of the top 10 mansion in Taiwan. It took nine years to finish the building and you can find a lot of brick carving on the window and doors. If you want to know more about this mansion, free guided tour is offered by some local high school students and I think you can understand more on the history and development of this ancient mansion. You can spend 1 hour in this garden or more if you want to try the Chinese restaurants located inside the garden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nostalgia of childhood for both my family as we lived in something similar. It now hosts a kindergarten, art shops, and restaurant which helps fund the maintenance of the wonderfully kept structure. Worth the drive if you're into traditional Taiwanese houses.
