Fried rice was perfect, had a good peppery flavour, was served piping hot.

Enjoying a leisurely life is much cheaper than enjoying a luxurious life. The former requires only an artist's nature, to indulge oneself in a thoroughly leisurely mood, and have a free afternoon flow away.

It's a very nice place, quiet and calm. Inside, most of the original building is well-preserved. You can find out about Lin and his work, how he lived. Inside, there's a small cafe and the building is air-conditioned. Outside, in the backyard is a nice little garden and the author's grave. Entrance fee is 30$, 25$ at a reduced price. There's also a nice little area to sit on the side of the house.

Always a good place to feel serenity here. Lin Yutang was one of the most famous billingual Chinese writers from the early 1930s until he passed away. "The Importance of Living" was the New York Times Bestseller of the year in 1937. "Moment in Beijing" had him nominated to the Nobel Prize of Literature. He spent 10 years at the house in Yangmingshan and his wife then doated the House to thr government, which turned into a museum. I really enjoyed watching a introduction clip here and reading his works. Anyone visiting Yangmingshan should at least stop by Lin Yutang House!!

Former Taiwanese residence of Lin Yutang who had invaluable contributions to the Chinese language by easing the isolation of it. Lin's tomb also can be found in the garden. Entry fee is NT$30, there are toilets, a small café, free WiFi (password is the phone number that starts with 02), souvenirs and water dispenser. Highly recommended NOT to take bus R5 during weekends, as they are packed with hikers on their way to Yangmingshan and there are huge queues at Jiantan. Buses 109, 1717 or 111 tend to be less congested.
