★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 1. 早期是「陸軍化學兵學校」從花蓮搬遷過來，傳統上簡稱「化校」。記得民國八十年代隨國軍整編改成「國軍核生化防護學校」開始收訓包含三軍、憲兵、陸戰隊學員生。
2.交通便利，就在繁忙擁擠的介壽路邊，早期與對面的化學兵部隊訓練基地大門相對（後來化學兵部隊訓練基地大門改邊，沒再與化校大門相對）。南側緊鄰著的是在幾次大學校區的實驗室發生實驗室災害後協助大學提供化災偵檢與處理善後，而聲名大譟的「化驗中心」單位所在。
3.原本七十、八十年代的時候，化校裡面靠近當時學員隊宿舍旁有小福利社，之後改到往靶場的路邊當時新建的一排營舍中的最後一間，再之後關掉另外在校區西北外側緊鄰介壽路新開一大型「國軍營站」也經營近十年，但後來也關起來收掉了。最近的一處是僑愛新村改建後裡面的「國軍福利站」。
4.化校在八德更寮腳已經過數十年，國軍派任的各階層歷任幹部、教官們都還算認真盡職，為維繫與發展國家軍隊的核生化訓練能量貢獻良多功不可沒。或許，有因為部份幹部個人特質或觀念守舊、環境限制…會導致部份受訓學員生感受到不愉快的受訓經驗，但總體來說仍是發揮她應有的教育訓練、厚實核生化防護戰力…等等功能。
