Too wimpy to get on a scooter? Rent an electric bike and cruise in tranquility. Fine for kids over age 11 (or get a tandem). Owner “J” doesn’t have much English, but he makes great use of what he has!

This has got to be the best rental shop on Xiao Liu Qiu! The owners are just amazing. They ensured our safety by allowing us to try on the ebikes before renting it to us. When our ebike broke down. They came to our rescue (with a replacement) immediately with no questions asked. I highly recommend them to all travellers.

The only e-bike shop in town, great for families

This e-bike rental place was perfect. We got three bikes for our family of five, the tandem was perfect for one adult and one kid, the littlest kid sat in a front add-on safety seat with buckles with the other parent and the tween had their own bike. We could have all fit on two bikes bc they have the seat pad on back but three made for more exercise. Great customer service, you can return to exchange battery as needed for more cycling fun.

Get the tandem electric bike. Adult at the front and kid at the back. Kids love it. This is the way to travel on Xiaoliuqiu. Helmets available for kids and medium sized heads only. Those with a large head need to bring their own helmet.

We had a great time on Jay’s bike with our family of three. It might not be as quick and powerful as a scooter, but with a little pedal power you can climb all but the steepest slopes in Xiaoliuqiu. You can return to the shop any time to swap the battery. The owner is very friendly and they helped us transport our suitcase to the hotel and back.

Great experience at Jgogo bikes. We rented via hotel. It's about 3 or 5 minutes from the harbor and ferries. You can recharge your battery whenever you need from 8 am to 6 pm, but best to do it every day because I ran out of charge after 1.5 days. Luckily we were uphill from the shop about 5 minutes away ? It's very hilly in XLQ so it's not convenient to walk and you could cycle but it'd be a lot of extra work. Ebikes are a great idea for someone like me who doesn't have any experience driving a scooter. It took me half a day to feel comfortable on the ebike and hills but then it's really FUN! There's a lot of coast to see so I recommend going around the island and it feels awesome to be independent. The bikes have a holder for your phone, lights, and a drink holder. The basket is big enough to hold my backpack but it might be too small for luggage so think about that if you're coming straight from the ferry with your stuff.
